1. Scope and Operator

This Privacy Policy covers the official Android, iOS and HarmonyOS applications of SimulTranslate AI (Chinese name: 同声传译AI, the “Product”) and related services. Features differ by platform, distribution channel and version. The processing described for a feature applies when that feature is available and used.

Personal information controller / service operator: the Company. Contact for privacy, support, complaints and account deletion: wutengfei214312@gmail.com.

This Policy explains how personal information is handled and the choices you have. Reading this webpage does not authorize microphone access, a subscription purchase or new processing. Where consent or separate consent is legally required, it must be obtained before the relevant processing begins.

2. Information We Process and Why

Account registration, sign-in and security
For password accounts, we process the username and password you submit, a random installation credential and session information to create and authenticate your account, prevent abuse and keep you signed in. A username does not have to be an email address. The server stores a password verification value rather than a plaintext password. If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, we process identity tokens, an external account identifier and information needed to verify authorization. Apple sign-in may also involve an authorization code and a random verification value. We do not ask for your Apple or Google password, and do not describe your name or email as mandatory information collected through every third-party sign-in.
Live voice interpretation
After the relevant consent, your deliberate start action and microphone permission, we process microphone audio, source and target languages, recognized text, translations, generated speech, and session timing, status and errors. These are used for recognition, translation, playback and the live connection. Audio can contain personal information about you or other speakers; obtain the necessary permission before using the service.
Membership, purchases, restoration and accounting
We process your Product account, store, product and order identifiers, purchase evidence, purchase and renewal status, trial or grace-period status, refunds or revocations, and membership time balance. These support verification, delivery, restoration, prevention of duplicate credits and financial processing. The relevant store handles payment. We do not ask you to enter your full card number or payment password in the Product.
Service operation and security
We process IP addresses involved in connections, app and system versions, platform, connection times, session identifiers, operating status, usage and necessary error or security records to connect the service, limit abnormal requests, diagnose faults and settle service usage. Ordinary operational logs should not contain passwords, full login tokens, raw recordings or complete conversations.
Support and feedback
If you contact us, we process the email address, description and necessary account, order or error details you provide to investigate and respond. Provide only what is needed and do not send passwords, complete payment details or unrelated information about other people. Moderation feedback is addressed in Section 5.

3. Voice, AI Services and Device Permissions

Live interpretation sends audio to our Product service and then to the Alibaba Cloud Bailian or Volcengine Doubao service handling that session for recognition, translation and speech generation. Translation is not performed entirely offline on your device. It may be unavailable if the network or provider is unavailable.

Some processing preserves or reproduces a speaker’s vocal characteristics so the translated speech can sound similar to that speaker. This is used to render translated audio; the current Product does not use it as an identity authentication feature. Vocal characteristics and conversation content may involve sensitive personal information. Do not process another person’s voice without permission or impersonate them. General agreement acceptance does not replace separate consent where the law requires it.

Microphone access is used for sessions you deliberately start. On iOS, an active session may continue capturing audio after the screen locks or you switch to another app, until you stop it. Use the stop control or a supported system control to end the session. You can also revoke microphone permission in system settings. Revocation prevents further voice capture; restoring permission does not automatically start a new session.

Current features do not require camera, photo library, contacts, location or system speech-recognition permission. Network and audio-routing capabilities support connections and playback. We will explain and request any additional permission needed by a future feature before using it.

Current-session text and translated audio are temporarily held on the device for display and replay and cleared when you clear the session, sign out, change accounts or delete the account. The app does not save session recordings as audio files. This does not mean AI providers have no necessary buffers, logs or legally required retention, and does not exclude the moderation records in Section 5.

iOS widgets and system live activities may show languages, direction, session state and timing, and share necessary local control identifiers on the device. That shared area does not contain audio, captions or login credentials. Others may see status information on your lock screen; manage its visibility in system settings.

4. Product Analytics and Umeng Statistics

Enabled analytics begins after you accept the app’s startup agreement, to understand acquisition, activity, retention, distribution channels and feature usage. Analytics and recording are separate: agreement acceptance does not immediately start recording.

Our product analytics

We use a separate random installation identifier, app version, platform, channel, language, timestamps, page or feature events, and flow steps. Events created while signed in may be associated with your Product account. Earlier anonymous events are not reassigned to that account when you later sign in. These analytics exclude recordings, source text, translations, passwords and store purchase evidence.

Umeng U-App SDK

The provider is 友盟同欣(北京)科技有限公司 (Umeng Tongxin (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd.). The SDK processes device and app identifiers, app version, network information including IP address, launches, usage duration and fixed page visits. We do not send it Product account IDs, recordings, source text, translations or purchase evidence. The current configuration disables optional advertising identifier / attribution collection; basic device identifiers and network statistics are still processed. See the Umeng Privacy Policy.

The current app has no separate analytics off switch. To withdraw analytics consent or request access or deletion, contact wutengfei214312@gmail.com. We will verify and address the request under applicable law, explaining its effects and necessary steps. Withdrawing voice consent does not automatically withdraw analytics consent. Before startup agreement acceptance, the app does not formally initialize Umeng or start the associated product analytics.

5. Content Moderation and Review Requests

For domestic Android / HarmonyOS interpretation sessions with moderation enabled, the service checks recognized text and translations for content that may violate laws or service rules. A match can hide affected text or stop its translated audio. Moderation can make mistakes; use an available feedback control or our contact email to request review.

To investigate matches and feedback, we may record the related account or session, time, matched rule and outcome, necessary source or translation excerpts, contributing nearby context of up to three utterances, and feedback you submit. Moderation records do not contain raw recordings and are not intended to preserve complete conversations. Access is limited to people who need it for review, complaints or legal duties.

Unless subject to a legal hold, text excerpts, nearby context and written feedback are removed through the retention process after 30 days; event metadata is deleted in batches after six calendar months. Held material returns to the relevant retention process when the reason for preservation ends.

6. Service Providers and Disclosures

We disclose necessary information for specified purposes and distinguish processing on our behalf from processing by an independent third party as required by law. We obtain separate consent where required. Linking a third-party policy does not replace our own notice, choice and protection duties.

Alibaba Cloud Bailian — cloud voice and AI processing
When handling a session, this service processes audio, languages, necessary session parameters, recognized text, translations and generated speech, potentially including preserved vocal characteristics. Its current public service agreement identifies 通义云启(杭州)信息技术有限公司 as the provider; the applicable entity and processing arrangements must match the actual service contract. See the Bailian privacy notice and service agreement.
Volcengine Doubao — cloud voice and AI processing
When handling a session through Volcengine service interfaces, the provider processes audio, languages, necessary session parameters, recognized text, translations and generated speech. This does not redirect you to the consumer Doubao app. The relevant provider is 北京火山引擎科技有限公司 (Beijing Volcengine Technology Co., Ltd.). See the Volcengine Privacy Policy.
Umeng U-App — basic statistics
友盟同欣(北京)科技有限公司 processes the information in Section 4. Its Privacy Policy governs the applicable provider retention and handling rules. Our own 7-day / 400-day analytics periods do not apply to Umeng.
Apple — sign-in and App Store transactions
When you select these features, Apple and its applicable regional entities process authorization, store-account and payment information. The Product receives necessary identity and transaction verification information. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
Google — sign-in and Google Play transactions
When you select these features, Google and its applicable regional entities process authorization, store-account and payment information. The Product processes necessary identity information, purchase evidence and verification results. See the Google Privacy Policy.

These processing activities apply only to enabled channels and features. This Policy does not mean native purchasing is available in HarmonyOS or domestic Android versions. For disclosure to judicial or administrative authorities, we verify the legal basis and limit the information to what is necessary. If a change of operator involves personal information, we will provide legally required notice of the recipient and its contact details and require continuing protection.

7. Information Retention

We process information for the shortest period needed for the specific purpose. Where law, an unresolved dispute or a legal hold requires retention, we keep only what is necessary and restrict its use.

Where processing requires further notice, separate consent or other legal procedures, we must complete them before that processing. Contact us for the arrangements applicable to you.

Accounts and credentials
We keep the identity information and password verification value needed while the account is in use. Expired or revoked login credentials no longer authorize access. See Section 9 for deletion. Necessary pending purchase / restoration evidence is kept in system secure storage on the device and removed after the relevant processing completes.
Current sessions
Section 3 describes clearing text and translated audio on the device. Provider-side retention differs from local clearing and must be established from the actual service contract and applicable policies. We do not promise that every provider has zero retention or excludes every training use.
Our analytics
Pending on-device events are kept for at most 7 days. Server-side raw events and related context are cleared in batches after 400 days. Necessary first-activity, deletion-protection and deduplication records are retained separately and are not necessarily fully anonymous.
Moderation
Necessary text is retained for 30 days and event metadata for six calendar months, subject to the cleanup and legal-hold rules in Section 5.
Orders, finance, security, support and backups
Retention supports transaction fulfillment, refunds, tax or accounting, security and dispute handling. Necessary records may survive account deletion. The applicable period is determined by statutory retention duties, unresolved transactions or complaints, the period needed to establish or defend legal claims, and necessary backup recovery cycles. Once the purpose no longer requires retention and no lawful basis remains, information should be deleted or anonymized. Contact us for the categories and periods applicable to your records. Long-lived analytics records must also be assessed against their necessary purpose; a random identifier does not justify unrestricted use.

8. Information Security

The client uses HTTPS / WSS to communicate with Product services. Login credentials and necessary pending purchase evidence use system secure storage. Server protections include authentication, access restrictions, password verification values, and necessary audit and cleanup measures. Personnel access is limited to their work needs.

These measures cannot make any system absolutely secure and do not guarantee the internal systems of every provider or every connection between services. If a security incident may affect your information, we will take remedial action and notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

9. Your Choices, Rights and Account Deletion

  • Access, correction, copies, deletion and explanations: use an available in-app control or contact wutengfei214312@gmail.com. Where the relevant legal conditions apply, you may also request portability, restriction or object to processing.
  • Withdrawing consent: supported versions provide voice-consent withdrawal under Settings / Account and Privacy. You can also stop a session or revoke system microphone permission. Request withdrawal of analytics or other consent by email. Withdrawal does not invalidate earlier lawful processing or processing necessary under another lawful basis.
  • Deleting your account: in versions that provide the control, open Settings / Account and Privacy / Delete Account and complete identity verification. If your version lacks this control, including the current HarmonyOS version, or you cannot sign in, request assistance by email. We verify only information necessary for the request and do not ask you to send your password.
  • Deletion results: after completion, the original account can no longer be used. Login authorization is revoked, passwords and releasable identity links are removed, and local current-session content is cleared. Necessary transaction, refund and membership accounting records may remain associated with a deletion marker for the original account. This is not complete anonymization or immediate removal of every record. Subject links in analytics are cleared through the deletion process.
  • Subscriptions are separate: deletion, sign-out, voice-consent withdrawal or uninstalling does not cancel store renewal. We recommend checking renewal in the original store and resolving remaining benefits or refunds. Canceling a subscription is not a prerequisite for requesting account deletion. Re-registering does not automatically move old orders or balances to a new account.

We verify requests and respond or explain progress within applicable legal deadlines. If we cannot fulfill a request, we explain why and the available remedies. Information that must legally be retained or cannot yet be deleted is restricted to necessary storage and security protection. You may also complain to a competent privacy or consumer-protection authority.

10. Children and Minors

Minors should read this Policy and use the service with a guardian’s guidance, and obtain permission before purchasing. This service is not specifically designed for children under 14. Processing their information requires the guardian consent and special protections required by law. Until those conditions are met, do not open the service for a child or submit their personal information.

If you believe we have processed a child’s information without the necessary authorization, contact wutengfei214312@gmail.com. We will investigate and delete it or take other legally required protective measures. Stricter local age or guardianship rules remain applicable.

11. Policy Changes

We will update version information on this page. Material changes to purposes, methods, information categories, disclosures, cross-border arrangements or your rights will be brought to your attention in the app or by another suitable method. We will obtain renewed or separate consent when legally required. Continued browsing of this webpage is not authorization for new sensitive processing.

12. Contact Us

Send privacy requests, account-deletion requests, questions about providers, complaints and support inquiries to wutengfei214312@gmail.com. Include the platform, app version, type of issue and only the information necessary to verify it. Do not send passwords or complete payment credentials.
